How we work
As Independent Financial Advisers we are free to advise on a comprehensive range of issues, and, where required, access products available from all product providers. We use advanced computer software to research and compare solutions to your financial priorities, and are renowned for our own in-house research, from investment through to retirement options.
Precisely how we work for you depends on what and how much advice you need, which will likely fall into one of three broad categories.
1. No or little advice. For example you are happy making your own investment choices based on our generic research, such as the TopFunds Guide, and would like to take advantage of our large discounts and ongoing research and fund monitoring. Formalities will be limited and charges will be very low. Similarly, if you are coming up to retirement, know what annuity you want, but want a helping hand with identifying the best rates and to get you through the maze of paperwork.
2. Detailed advice on one area. This might be inheritance tax, how to invest a lump sum, or a report on the range of SIPP or income drawdown products. We will need to gather much more information and you and your objectives, and will tend to have focussed process for doing so, so we don't bother you with volumes of irrelevant questions and forms. We can gather this information face to face, though increasingly this is not required, and this keeps the costs down for you.
3.Comprehensive financial overhaul. You have got to a point in your life where nothing short of a comprehensive financial review will do. This may be because of an inheritance, or retirement is looming, or post-divorce, or a change of job, or starting a family. Our review provides a great opportunity to establish a foundation and structure for your finances for many years to come.
Whichever one of the above matches your requirements, all our proposals will be fully explained and costed so that you'll know exactly what and why before you agree to anything.
